Rogoznica

is a fishing town with a traditional historical centre with a pleasant promenade.

Just 12 km north is the former fishing village of Rogoznica, a town with a traditional historic centre and a pleasant promenade.

 

The world-famous Marina Frapa is a marina popular with yachtsmen from all over the world, where visitors can admire luxury yachts as they stroll to the chapel.

 

In the peak tourist season, Rogoznica is a lively place with restaurants, bars and cafes, ice cream and souvenir stands. For those staying in Razanj, the regular boat taxi (leaving only 70 m from Villa Kata) is a very pleasant way to visit.

Another popular tourist destination is the Dragon’s Eye Lake, an interesting natural phenomenon shrouded in legends. It’s right by the harbour and many people like to jump off the cliffs.

 

There is a pharmacy by the harbour; on the promenade (a boat taxi comes here) there is a medical clinic, a post office, a tourist centre, Hajduk ice-cream, souvenirs.

 

At the roundabout there is a market with fruit, fish and seafood in the morning; souvenirs. There are two large supermarkets on the approach to the town – open all year round.

 

How to get to Rogoznica from Razanj:
by car 12 km; in season there is a regular daily boat taxi, boarding right under the EmKa shop (70 m from our houses).

Punta Planka / Movar / Uvala Luka

The pine-covered peninsulas near the village are ideal for hiking.

  • the chapel of Punta Planka is a popular destination (3 km)
  • on the Movar peninsula, the first stop is the Movar fortress at the highest point and then the church of St. St. Anthony’s Cathedral at the extreme tip (4.5 km)
  • another small circuit is a walk along the beach to Uvala Luka and from there back along the path between the olive groves (3.5 km).

The ``pearl of Dalmatia`` is located only 18km north of Razanj

The old town, on a peninsula surrounded by the open sea with several islands, rises through narrow streets to the church at its highest point.

 

In high season, the promenade is full of cafes, restaurants and souvenir stands. The surrounding vineyards are a perfect picture of human diligence and the renowned Babič grape variety tastes great.

 

It is definitely a good idea to go to the viewpoint at the monument to Our Lady of Loreto on the Gaj hill south of the town.

Split

The centre (UNESCO) of the largest Dalmatian town is about 50km south of Razanj.

The airport is only 32km from Razanj – it is located on the northern outskirts, so there is no need to drive through the city upon arrival.

 

Split has a stunning ancient centre, which dates back to Roman settlement, and countless monuments have been preserved from that time.

 

Perhaps the most striking is Diocletian’s Palace, but it is by no means the only monument.

 

In Solina it is possible to visit an extensive archaeological site.

 

The fortress of Klis rises above Split. One of the most important fortresses in Dalmatia is excellently preserved and, apart from its amazing history, offers a breathtaking view of Split.

This gem of Northern Dalmatia is located only 45km north of Razanj.

The promenade along the harbour, lined with restaurants and bars, takes the visitor to the historic centre, where numerous sights can be found in the narrow stone streets, including. the most famous – of the Cathedral of St. James (UNESCO).

 

You can admire Gothic and Renaissance monuments, over 20 churches and 4 town forts are also unique destinations for wandering.

 

Besides, the karst river Krka flows into the Šibenik Bay.

Trogir

The ancient town and port is situated on the mainland and the island of Ciovo just 26km south of Razanj.

The centre, rich in history (UNESCO), invites you to wander the narrow streets and admire the numerous ancient monuments.

 

South of the town, a modern lifting bridge to the island of Ciovo, where there are beautiful beaches, has been open since 2018.

NP Krka

national park of the karst river Krka with massive waterfalls is located about 50 km from Razanj.

From its source at the town of Knin to its mouth in Šibenik, the river is 72.5 km long, with a system of cascades and waterfalls cascading from 17 travertine terraces to a depth of 45.7 m.

 

In high season, it is necessary to book the entrance in advance (online, payment by card).

 

Whether you visit the park by boat, on foot or by bike, you won’t regret it.

NP Krka

Skradin

A very nice town 60 km north of Ražanj.

A town with a rich history is built on the banks of river Krka, it is one of the starting points for visiting the NP (Skradinski Buk, from there on to Visovac island). A beautiful view opens from the remains of the fortress Turina, another points of interest are the Orthodox or Roman Catholic churches. On the banks of the river you will find nice sandy beaches.

 

Only 15 km away is the archaeological site of Bribirska glavica, which is called “Croatian Troy”.

Skradin

Drniš

A town from the 15th century is located approx. 75 km northeast of Ražanj.

The main attraction of the city are the remains of the fortress Gradina above the canyon of the river Čikola. In the city there are the remains of a minaret from the time of Turkish rule, the original court building from Venetian times is today the town hall; the churches are also worth attention.
